Warts (Verrucas)

• Small, skin-coloured, rough lumps on the skin. They often appear on the hands and feet.
• A wart on the sole of the foot is called a verruca. Genital warts are warts found on the genitals and around the rectum.
• They are caused by infection with a virus called human papilloma virus (HPV).
• Although they are usually harmless, they can look unattractive. They often clear up by themselves, although treatment can help to get rid of them more quickly.
• Warts are very contagious. The skin cells in warts release thousands of viruses, so close skin-to-skin contact can pass on the infection.
• It can take weeks or even months for a wart, verruca, or genital wart to appear after you have caught the infection.
• People with weak immune systems (the part of the body that fights infection) are more likely to get warts.

Mulluscum contagiosum

• A viral infection of the skin. It is more common in children, although anyone can get it.
• It is not serious and usually clears up in 12 to 18 months without any treatment.
• Molluscum contagiosum spreads through skin to skin contact and sharing towels and clothes. This is why it is so common among children, who play together, share toys and are constantly with other children at nursery or school.

Effective Natural Treatments

Warts, Verrucas and Molluscum all respond well to Homeopathic and Herbal treatment. The following are some remedies that are highly effective forms of treatment, all available without prescription. Generally it is best to combine an internal remedy (Homeopathic Pilule) with a topical application (Cream or Tincture).

Creams
All our creams are hand made using strong tinctures in a Sweet Almond and Coconut Oil base. Many people prefer a cream because it is easy to apply and rubs in giving a soothing effect. We can make most tinctures up as a cream and for warts and molluscum we recommend Thuja or Black Walnut Cream.
	Thuja Cream	Use Thuja Cream for all warts in conjunction with the appropriate Homeopathic remedy.
	Black Walnut Cream	Black Walnut cream can be use on all skin excresenses and tumours. Always seek medical advice if any skin condition deteriates.
Homeopathic Pilules
As a general rule the following homeopathic remedies should be taken once daily for several months. For specific dosages please feel free to contact us.
	Thuja 30	Thuja is the single most useful and effective remedy for the treatment of warts and moles generally. It is always the Homeopaths first choice for the treatment of warts. Especially good for figwarts, "cauliflower like" and horny warts.
	Calc Carb 30	A specific remedy for use on multiple warts that are horny and itchy. For warts that are generally round, red, hard and smooth.
	Causticum 30	Effective for use on multiple warts, especially when present on the face and eyelids. Warts on soles of feet, Sore warts on fingertips and large or smooth warts which bleed easily respond well to this remedy.
	Dulcamara 30	For large fleshy warts and flat, smooth warts on the face, palm, fingers or soles of feet.
	Nat Carb 30	Warts that are localised on the tips of fingers and toes respond well to this remedy.
	Nat Mur 30	Natrum mur is effective for treatment of warts that are on the palms of the hand. Frequently with perspiration, tingling and numbness.
	Nit ac. 6	"Cauliflower" shaped warts that itch, prick and bleed easily on washing respond well to Nit. ac, as do moist, oozing warts.
	Sepia 30	An effective remedy for the treatment of warts that are large, hard and pigmented.
	Sulphur 30	For warts that are hard, burning and painful use Sulphur.
